The Deep Sealife Centre - Hull

The Deep uses a combination of hands on interactive displays, audiovisual presentations, and living exhibits to tell the story of the world's oceans.

Aquaria exhibits include a lagoon with many brightly coloured tropical fish, a 10-metre (33 ft) deep pool, a 9-metre (30 ft) deep tunnel, and an underwater lift. The tank is home to sharks, rays, and many other fish. The sharks and rays are fed early each afternoon by divers. Other marine life on display include fish that glow in the dark, coral, and sea horses.

Withernsea Underground bunker tour

Underground bunker tours - Withernsea. RAF Holmpton is a former Cold War era nuclear bunker that was built in the 1950s as an early warning radar station. The site covers about 36 acres and has a number of surface structures along with a secure 35,000 square feet command bunker which is about 100 feet below ground.

All visitors are given guided tours of the site's facilities, including 4 underground operations rooms, guardroom, communications rooms, dormitories, offices, kitchen, officer's mess, life support operations systems, canteen and hospital, the coding & computer rooms and many other areas of interest. One gallery features a display map of 'Cold War' target sites in the UK.

Hornsea Mere

Hornsea Mere is a centre for bird-watching and a tourist attraction offering rowing, sailing, boat trips and fishing. It is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Protection Area for birds; it accommodates many species throughout the year, and is of international importance for a migratory population of gadwall.

RSPB Blacktoft Sands

RSPB Blacktoft Sands - Goole is a large tidal reed bed with hides positioned near to the lagoons providing close views of waders and ducks.

The area is an important breeding ground for bearded tits, bitterns and marsh harriers. Approximately 270 species can be seen here and the RSPB runs a monthly wildlife challenge to spot as many different types of wildlife as you can from sheets they provide. There are a series of guided walks throughout the year, intended to introduce beginners to various waders, warblers and raptors.


Bridlington Animal Park

Bridlington Animal Park is a small animal park & bird of prey centre in a woodland location. The centre has a small number of animals such as Meerkats, Pigs, Alpacas and Wallabies as well as the birds of prey. A popular feature is the bird of prey displays that have birds skimming over the audience and the opportunity to have the birds fly to you. The keepers offer informative chats and children are often invited to hold the birds, owls and hawks.

The Jungle Zoo - Cleethorpes

The Jungle Zoo is a small family-run zoo hosting daily scheduled keeper talks, feeding sessions and demonstrations.

John Bull Sweet Factory Tour

This is your chance to make your own chocolate lolly, personalise a stick of rock and learn all the secrets about making bars of rock and chocolate lollies. The kids will love it. The company has a number of locations with Bridlington the nearest (see website). The centre also has the candy kingdom, an indoor adventure play centre for children 0-12 years old.

Hull Ice Arena

Hull Ice Arena is an Olympic sized rink 60m x 30m that is very popular with local teenagers. The arena offers courses for beginners and has a strong ice hockey club - Hull Stingrays.

On Friday they have a disco session and regularly have 800 people for the session. The Hull Arena holds a freestyle Dance off during the Disco where the best skaters are allowed to show off their skills.

The Hull Arena is also known as a great concert venue and many big names such as the Arctic Monkeys, Faithless, Keane, Kings of Leon, Lostprophets, Morrissey, Oasis, Stereophonics, Biffy Clyro, Robbie Williams and Ed Sheeran have headlined at the Hull Arena over the years.

Bridlington Leisure World

Bridlington Leisure World has a 25m indoor pool along with a learner pool. There is also a large 1m deep wave pool and two fantastic waterslides which are available during out of school hours and school holidays.


Hollywood Bowl - Hull

Hull’s Hollywood Bowl is a multilane bowling alley with an on-site bar/diner, plus a dedicated games area and arcade. It is advisable to book in advance to avoid disappointment at busy times.

Beverley Racecourse

Beverley Racecourse hosts 21 flat racing fixtures a year between April and September. Race goers can choose between grandstand and Paddock enclosures through to hospitality suites, comfortably furnished with a balcony overlooking the winning post, flat screen TV and a private bar. This could be a great idea if you have a small party who fancy a day at the races.

Greengrass Park - Campsite with Fishery

Greengrass Park is open all year and set in 35 acres of peaceful country side. There are many recognized walks within and around the site to get you out and about in the local countryside. In addition Greengrass Park is situated within easy reach of the coastal towns of Hornsea, Bridlington, Scarborough and Whitby. Some visitors have become regulars every weekend!

Streetlife - Museum of Transport

Experience 200 years of transport history as you walk down a 1940’s high street, board a tram or enjoy the pleasures of a carriage ride.

Arctic Corsair trawler

Arctic Corsair trawler Is a small museum on a boat. Exhibits and guides aboard the boat tell the story of Hull's deep-sea fishing industry. The vessel is open on Wednesday, Saturday and Sundays from Easter until end of October. Guided tours are free. Check website before visiting.

Hull and East Riding Museum

Hull and East Riding Museum is a hands-on museum covering 235 million years of history. You can walk through an Iron Age village, enter a Roman bath house and see stunning mosaics, gaze at majestic mammoths and find out about Saxon invaders.

Wilberforce House Museum

Wilberforce House Museum is the birthplace of William Wilberforce, famous campaigner against the slave trade. Admission to Wilberforce House is free. The museum tells the story of the trans-Atlantic slave trade and its abolition, as well as dealing with contemporary slavery.
