Port Sunlight Heritage Centre

One of the popular things to do in Wirral is to stroll around Port Sunlight village. Port Sunlight village was built by William Hesketh Lever to house his soap factory workers. The village is set in 130 acres of beautifully maintained parkland with a mature treescape. Approximately 900 houses have been built along with some larger "principal" buildings. Nearly every building in the village is Grade II listed. Two sections of the landscape are included in the English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens as being of "Special Historic Interest".

U-Boat Story

At the U-Boat story , you will be able to look into the U-boat, now in four sections with glass viewing partitions, view its amazing interior and discover many well preserved artefacts. Learn about the mystery surrounding U-Boat U-534. Take a guided tour. ( currently daily at 14:00 ) - check site for details.

SpacePort - Seacombe, Wallasey

Spaceport is a visitor attraction which takes you on an inspirational journey through space. There are 6 themed areas with a variety of interactive hands-on items. The attraction also has it's own planetarium and occasionally has special events such as a Dr Who exhibition. The attraction takes about 2 hours to view including a 30 minute planetarium show.

Brimstage Maize Maze

Brimstage maze has developed over the years and now has a number of other activities available: An agility trail, pedal karts, Maisy Moo's Madhouse, zip lines, outdoor adventure play and inflatable maze. The maize itakes about 60 - 90 minutes to complete and there are clues to help you on the way. The maize is open from Easter - check the website for details.

Tam O' Shanter Urban Farm

Tam O' Shanter Urban Farm is situated on Bidston Hill on the Wirral. The Tam O'Shanter historic cottage and free urban farm is run by a charitable trust with the aim of providing an enjoyable and educational experience for kids and adults alike.

New Palace & Adventureland - New Brighton

New Palace & Adventureland has an indoor childrens play and activity area, suitable for children from toddlers up to 12 years of age. Outside they have a small outdoor fairground with dodgems, small dippers, a fun house and other fun rides again ideally suited to families with children aged from toddlers to 12.

This activity can be combined with others nearby. Cinema, Bowling Alley, Crazy golf or just across the road, New Brighton beach.

Europa Pools

Europa Pools has 2 pools, one for swimming and the other is a funpool. The funpool has 2 flume rides, a wave machine, water cannon, bubble pools, spa pool, babies paddling pool, fountains, and a walk in beach. The pool has a small pool side cafe.

Ness Botanic Gardens

Ness Botanic Gardens aim is: "To build and maintain an historically important and locally treasured garden with its collection of diverse flora and fauna, providing public access to inspire our visitors of all ages, encourage life-long learning, to benefit the health and well-being of society." The gardens are a nice place to have a stroll and a cup of tea.

Walk to Hilbre Islands

It is necessary to plan your visit to Hilbre Islands. The islands are cut off from the mainland by the tide for up to 5 hours out of every 12 hours. If you intend to stay on the island for the 5 hour period ensure you have warm / weatherproof clothing for bad weather. If returning before high tide, find out the time of high water and allow sufficient time to complete your visit to the islands and the return journey back to West Kirby safely.  

Manchester Ship Canal Cruises

The cruise departs from Seacombe (CH44 6QY) and you will travel the 35-miles of the canal, enjoying spectacular scenery and a lively commentary along the way. The tour guide will tell the story of how this waterway shaped the city of Manchester and the North West of England. The journey takes you through locks and bridges that have remained largely unchanged since their construction over 100 years ago. Along the route you will see some of the regions most stunning architectural and natural sights. The cruise takes approximately 6 hours.
